This past Sunday I announced to Colwood Church that my family and I are going to be transitioning into our next chapter of ministry. We will be planting Cross & Crown Church in Northern Virginia.
Mary and I both sensed God’s leading in this area, and both of us received the same confirmation at the same time. What is really exciting is that we have been welcomed into a core team that has been meeting for quite some time, and some of those members have been dear friends for a few years.
Right now we’re in the process of selling our home so we can prepare for the move this fall. Once we get there, I’ll be searching for part-time work to help get it up and running. The plan for now is for our core group to meet right away and begin asking God to use us to impact NoVa for the Kingdom. Once a few other things get established, we’ll start gathering for Lord’s Day worship. While we’re doing that, though, we’ll be finding the biggest stick and swatting at the largest hornet’s nest (D.C. is only a short distance away!) Obviously there are lot of things that need to happen, so I ask that you join us in prayer.
Pretty soon we’re going to have some more stuff roll out, like our website, social media, and so on, and I’d also ask for you to prayerfully consider supporting the mission through generous giving.
For now, I just want to say that the past 6 1/2 years at Colwood Church has been a pleasure. Ministry always has its challenges, but God has been faithful and gracious to us. We’re sad to leave many friends, but incredibly excited to turn the page and see what God will do next.
Grace and Peace!
My prayers and well wishes to you, Mary and the children in your move to a new chapter in your lives. Aunt Rosie
