So it’s been nearly a year since we journeyed to Northern Virginia to plant Cross & Crown Church. We spent the first several months together as a core team prayerfully laying out our vision and plans as to what the future may look like if we take seriously our mission: “All of Christ, for all of life.” Our reason for existence is quite simple: to equip men, women, and children to press the crown rights of King Jesus into every area of life. We understand that the goal of the Christian life is not to be locked up inside the four walls of an institutional church. Rather, the goal of life is the Kingdom of God. Don’t ecclesiasticize the covenant! Since the Bible is sufficient for life and doctrine (there is no other standard), then it follows that the Bible must be wielded in every single area of life. Because of this conviction, we believe we must carry forth the truths of God’s law-word into those arenas and contend for the faith. So that’s what we’ve been doing.

Cross & Crown is busy at work laboring for the King in multiple sectors. We have business owners and homemakers, homeschoolers and abolitionists. Oftentimes you’ll see us at George Mason University agitating and evangelizing. Sometimes we’re at the DC Planned Parenthood bringing testimony against the murder of the pre-born. We do many things together: regular fellowship meals, trips to the park, game nights, play dates for the moms and kiddos, and men’s nights when we confess sin and plot how to take over the world. For Jesus, of course. We reject the temple-model version of ecclesiology (bureaucratic red-tape, institutional hierarchies built on power-religion, etc.) and instead embrace the synagogue model (culture building, Kingdom is center of life; fellowship, prayer, preaching, public influence in politics, etc.). While much more could be said about this, I am very happy with where we’re at a year later. Of course, there’s more work to be done!

A few personal things of note:

  • I recently got back from a 2-week mission to Zambia. You can hear about this trip by listening to this sermon. I’m so thankful for those who gave so sacrificially in order to afford me the opportunity to minister in this way. What’s really exciting about this trip is that it laid the foundation for future missions there. Cross & Crown is going global!
  • This past Summer I launched Dominion Healthcare Solutions, LLC. You can learn more by checking out the website!
  • I’m also an associate with LegalShield, and I’ll tell you this right now, if you’re not a member of LegalShield, you need to message me immediately. This company is amazing, and they are changing the way justice happens in this country and I’m so thrilled to be a part of the team. You should also talk to me about being an associate!

Lastly, I’m looking for ministry partners… People who are serious about the work of the Kingdom of God in tangible ways. Cross & Crown is doing some amazing things and I’d love to partner with you and/or your church in order to continue these pursuits. When we join together, you become a part of the Cross & Crown team! The traditional church-planting pastor is busy building an institution; that’s not what we’re doing. We’re building a culture. We’re bringing the gospel to Zambia, the University, the abortion mill. Would you consider supporting us? Would you consider supporting me? Instead of a church planter in the narrow sense, I see myself as a missionary to Northern Virginia. Would you prayerfully consider giving on a monthly basis to the work and partnering together in the mission? If so, you can go to the Cross & Crown giving page and make your donation there.

Once again, thank you all for your continued prayers and support!

For Christ’s Cross and Christ’s Crown,

Jason
